We had a really great experience tonight at Casa Del Rey Mexican Restaurant & Cantina in San Dimas. We went for a family dinner, and from the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, relaxed, and welcoming. It’s the kind of place where you can actually enjoy your time, whether you’re out with family or friends.
The staff was very accommodating and attentive without being overbearing, which always makes a big difference. Our food came out in a timely manner, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. You can tell they take pride in what they serve.
What I also appreciated is that it’s a solid value. We were able to have a full, enjoyable dinner without feeling like we overspent, which is getting harder to find these days.
Overall, Casa Del Rey is a great local spot for a casual night out. Good food, great atmosphere, and reasonable prices we’ll definitely be coming back again.

When people say authentic mexican food , i’m thinking more like my authentic hispanic grandparents food. This is more caucasian/ mexican food. Food was not worth $52 dollars for a burrito and a carnitas dinner plate. But your waitress , lisa was pretty darn amazing loved her honesty and kindness. Thank you Lisa Truthfully the way prices are.I would like my money back.Just not worth the price.

Their food is good!! Friendly servers and bartender makes you feel welcomed. Don’t believe the bad reviews. They don’t know what they’re talking about. How can you complain about salsa with not enough salt and greasy tortilla chips??? Their food is authentic and delicious.

Been wanting to try this place for a while since it is busy most of the time. I asked the waiter which of 2 dishes he recommended as it was my first time. Shredded beef taco and Chile relleno plate is what was recommended. I was hoping for a great experience but it just didn’t happen.
The chips were greasy and neither of the 2 salsas or chips had salt. The spicy salsa did have some decent heat but both were too tomatoey and lacking flavor.
The plate was much smaller than I expected but it was packed to the rim of the plate. The refried beans were really good but that was about it. The rice was fluffy and okay. The shredded beef taco was big and crispy but the meat was lacking flavor. The Chile relleno was the biggest disappointment. Lots of batter and it appeared that they included a piece of American Cheese in the battered portion along with some kind of white cheese inside the chile. The sauce used over the Chile relleno seemed like pure tomato sauce again with no salt.
The service was good and the ambiance is good for get togethers and the bar was well stocked. Feels like more of a place to go for drinks and social gatherings. Glad I at least gave it a shot.
