The most amazing wine history told while tasting some of the most exquisite wines paired with delicious cheeses. Mario was so knowledgeable and fun. The tasting is in an elegantly set cave where they store the barrels of wine. Such a cool experience and educational on wines and the importance of the right glass, pairings, struggle, tastebuds, and tenacity. This was our favorite tasting experience so far. It’s well worth the cost, and the wines are wonderful.

I was here 10 years ago and met John F Caldwell. Fun, enjoyable and a great story teller.
May 20. 2026 we arrived 5 minutes late. Nobody greeted us. We followed our driver into a cave and the guide was sitting at a desk pissed off. He flipped up a video on his IPad of the Caldwell story. It seemed so impersonal. I felt he was mad at us from the get go. I needed to take a breath from him and walked away. I met an associate wine maker who was lovely. The wine was good but the experience meh.

Mario is the absolute best! Request him if you can. Was a wonderful experience, we had a large group and he made the tasting experience fun and educational. He’s a wonderful story teller. A very unique and fun tasting experience. An absolute must when visiting Napa Valley.
