I am a repeat customer at C.R. Gibbs because each experience is as good or better than the last. Service is friendly and the servers are knowledgeable about each the offerings. The food is outstanding! The patio is lovely and comfortable most of the year.
Tonight’s visit was due to a monthly gathering. I was not going to attend until I learned it was going to be here. I never skip an opportunity to have a drink and dinner at C.R. Gibbs.
P.S. I would definitely order the Naan Steak Tacos again. So delicious!

Another solid spot in Redding
Every staff member we’ve interacted with has been incredibly friendly and helpful, and we’ve yet to order something we didn’t enjoy. The drinks have been consistently great too
Some of our favorites:
Their fried calamari is fantastic, very light and tasty.
Their poke nachos are delicious (though they need a bit more tuna)
Naan steak tacos are incredible.
Short ribs are also top notch.
And while we usually sit at the bar, their outdoor seating is really nice as well, will keep you fresh on a hot day.

This is one of my favorite spots to get lunch in Redding. Last time I had the Seared Soy Ginger Ahi Bowl (see pic). Despite its unwieldy name, this dish is delicious! Also I have to tell you that the bartenders here are the best! They serve great drinks and they’re super friendly.

I went to C.R. Gibbs to celebrate my 30th birthday with a party of 10, and it was such a great experience! We only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated on a busy Friday night, and our server was quick to get waters for the table right away. The indoor atmosphere was perfect—warm but not too hot, with inviting lighting that made it feel like the kind of restaurant where you’d want to celebrate a milestone.
Most of our group ordered the famous fish and chips, and they did not disappoint! The batter was perfectly crisp, the fish was light and flaky with delicious flavor, and the fries were cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the steak, and it cut like butter with amazing flavor.
To top it off, the staff surprised me with ice cream and a candle to blow out while singing happy birthday, which made me feel so special. We were the last table to leave that night, but the team never rushed us—they were kind and gracious until the end. I’ll definitely be coming back!
