This is my favourite place to go, as a local. Very serene and the trails never get old. There’s something new every time you go. The best time to come out is the morning after a night rain. The sunlight hits everything perfectly and the moisture makes it smell amazing. Make sure to stay on the trail and look out for poison oak. There’s a lot of it lining the trail here.
Today was a beautiful spring day with temperatures in the low 50’s. About perfect for trail running. I ran about 9 miles out and back. This trail is stunningly beautiful!
Beautiful green carpet of redwood sorrel when we visited after doing an overnight trek to one of the grasshopper mountain trail camps. Short visit, but stumbling upon this beautiful place made it worth it.

I did 7 miles. Amazing. My feet hurt.
Plenty of bathrooms along the way. Bring your camera, plenty of water and snacks. I downed just under 2 liters to myaelf and my woman did about 1.5
