The pool was easily the best part of our stay at Best Western Plus Tree House in Mount Shasta, California. There was also a working hot tub and a workout center, and the view from our room’s window was great.
The room lighting could definitely use improvement. The only main light was near the bathroom, with lamps and daylight providing the rest. Coming back at night, the room felt too dark. The lobby stairs leading up to our room also looked dirty and needed a thorough cleaning. Monthly carpet cleaning would help keep that area looking more welcoming.
For what we paid, I expected complimentary breakfast, but breakfast at the restaurant wasn’t included. We ended up going to Black Bear Diner, which was good and may have been the better meal anyway, but it added another $50 to our stay. For a family of four, that’s a significant extra expense.
The toilet paper felt like the cheapest option available. Plenty of hotels use the same kind, but I would have appreciated something better at this price.
Overall, we enjoyed the pool, hot tub, and views, but better lighting, cleaner stairs, better toilet paper, and an included breakfast would have made the stay feel like a much better value.
This is an older hotel. However it was very clean and we had a 2nd door to a courtyard patio. The free breakfast was plated (not a buffet) and was excellent. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful and the waitress was awesome and gave us two activities to check out while in town. On two separate occasions a house maintenance person and a outside worker, greeted me, asked me how my stay has been and wished me a good day! So friendly. Truly grateful we picked this hotel.
Better than most Best Western Pluses in my opinion and definitely a solid option for the Shasta area, which has a lot of more basic motel-type lodgings. Service at the front desk was outstanding.
Our double Queen room was clean spacious and comfy, with great air conditioning and a very nice shower situation with good pressure and hot water. A fridge and microwave in the room was also super-convenient.
The lobby in this BW is especially cool, as it’s super woody with a tall beam wooden ceiling; there’s an onsite restaurant and pretty sweet little bar as well on this level.
The entire place is pretty huge though, so be prepared to hike a bit to your room.
Nice location right off freeway and easy walking distance to town.
Stunning view of the mountain. Amazingly friendly and helpful staff all around. A special thank you to Joselynn, who helped make our stay even better – not just with service, but with vibes. Will definitely be returning for another trip. Highly recommended for its location to all things in the general downtown area as well. A tad pricey during these months, so plan wisely. I love the old-styled wood you find on handrails and door handles. Really gives nice charm.
Loved our stay here. Rooms were clean, pleasant, and comfortable. Service was decent. Pool and hot tub area also nice. Only complaint is that they do not provide housekeeping unless you specifically request it. They don’t indicate this anywhere and our room wasn’t cleaned during the stay.
