I was expecting more of a café based on the name, but it was actually a full-service restaurant. Walking up to the counter in front of the kitchen to order a couple of bagels to go felt a bit awkward.
We paid about $33 for two bagels, which felt very expensive for what we received. When we opened the boxes, the bagels were completely deconstructed. There was nothing on the menu indicating they would come this way, so it was disappointing to wait 15+ minutes to open the box and have to assemble them ourselves. For the price, I expected them to come prepared and ready to eat.

I am a producer who worked on a short narrative in the area with a crew of over 20. We ended up going with Barefoot Café for one of our meals during principal. I would highly recommend this place for your production.
The crew really liked the food, and there were actually no issues with any of the orders! We had a few dietary restrictions, and the needed changes were followed to a T. Each meal was wrapped in its own box, and extra napkins + utensils were provided. They even LABELED the boxes, which as you know is a lifesaver when getting individual boxes RTS. My PA’s had no issues during pick up, and the order was even ready a few minutes earlier. Everything went smoothly, people got fed, and the people working there were really polite.

We visited Barefoot Cafe for the first time and were really impressed. The food had great quality and flavor, the prices felt fair, and the atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. The background music (soft jazz) added such a nice vibe and made the whole experience feel even more enjoyable.
At the end, our server made a small mistake with the bill, but he was honest about it and let us know right away. He followed up the same day to confirm everything had been resolved, and kindly offered us one of the items for free on our next visit.
We really appreciated the transparency and service. We’ll definitely be back!

All smiles at Barefoot Cafe in Fairfax. They surprised our party of 8 after an amazing hike through Cataract Falls. The service was excellent and the food was fresh and delivered fast to our table. We all were extremely satisfied. A few foodie critics at our table spoke not a word as they gobbled down their sandwiches. I especially appreciated that the staff was extremely accommodating and allowed me to create an order that was not on the menu and it was incredible. I had a grilled chicken and spinach with pesto and sun dried tomatoes on grilled sourdough bread. We will definitely visit again when in the area.
