As a local in Napa you get to try a lot of great wines and experiences. And as a lover of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay you find yourself in Sonoma. Today we had the chance to experience Auteur with our host Scott Lang. I can only say it was not a matter of what wine I liked because, and this is rare, all of the wines were excellent. It was a matter of excellent and even better.

Both flights of Chardonnay and Pinot are amazing. It is more about a journey of which of these expressions you like based on your palette vs good or bad. It’s all excellent.

A hidden gem in the heart of Sonoma!
When my husband and I decided to take a spontaneous weekend trip to Sonoma for wine tasting, we stumbled upon Auteur Wines—and what a happy accident it was! From the moment we walked in, the experience felt personal and welcoming. Patrick hosted our first tasting and was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also a joy to chat with.

We loved it so much, we became members that very day. Now, a year later, every visit feels just as special—whether it’s tasting with friends or attending one of their curated events. Each experience is memorable, and the wines are consistently outstanding.

We’re also thrilled to see Auteur thriving, especially with their beautiful new location in the Russian River Estate in Healdsburg. Cheers to many more visits and continued success!
