We recently visited Calistoga for a wine tasting getaway. We stumbled upon August Briggs Winery while walking around and explore the downtown strip, and WHAT A FIND! Matt was so much fun to talk to and explained the intricacies of sourcing for various wines and considerations for selecting grapes for his wines. Not only did we learn a ton, but the wines were FABULOUS! We brought several bottles home and my partner has a list of new questions to ask next time we visit!

Amazing tasting experience with Matt (owner). Our group came near closing and Matt was patient and showed his true passion for wine throughout the tasting. He wasn’t pushy to get us out the door. We had great conversation learning about the history of the company and wine making process. The wine was outstanding and our group purchased a few bottles. After many, many tastings throughout Napa Valley, this was easily in our top 3. Thanks again, Matt, and best wishes to you and August Briggs wine!

We found August Briggs just from walking around the down town area and are so happy we decided to stop in. Colette was an amazing host and just so knowledgeable and friendly. The positive vibe made the tasting that much better.
We tried all 5 five wines on the tasting and ended up going home with two bottles 🙂 I added the chocolate pairing to my selection…which is definitely a must!
If you are in the area this should be a stop on your list for sure!

Great tasting! Wine poured for us by one of the owners. The Pinot Meunier was a real treat for us, a wine that tasted different cold then it did at room temperature. Very knowledgeable about wine and the Calistoga area, this was a great first stop on our abbreviated wine journey on this trip to Calistoga. Enjoy

Very pleasant experience. First tasting we did that day. The wine was absolutely amazing! Such unique flavors and to my surprise they ship to Utah!! We bought 2 bottles and will be ordering to ship in the future.
The staff was great and knowledgeable. You could tell he was passionate about the wine and company.
