is there an option to give 10 stars??!? 🙂
I was up in Fort Bragg for a fun little get away, i work with kiddos and it’s ski week so I got the week off, i was already excited to just be out and about…but wait it gets better. I see this store front “Art Explorers” it looked super cute, but i wasn’t entirely sure what it was, so i googled it and oh boy was i excited, unfortunately they were closed (we got into town after closing hours) so i let it be known to my bf i would be requiring a trip into town to go to this art studio, I usually try not to be a demanding gf but….i just had to this time ;-).

The next day I made it into Art Explorers and it BLEW MY MIND, even just typing this makes me smile because this place is *AMAZING* the ladies who work there are FANTASTIC advocates (sorry their names escape me now) for their artists…it was beautiful! They have a mix of art for sale in various mediums way too much to choose from, I could spend days in there just taking it all in.
I made my way deeper into the studio and was greeted by 2 super rad artists Frank and Jerry! Jerry was working on a pastel portrait of one of the lovely ladies there and Frank was drawing the cheerios bee. Eventually Frank and Jerry gave me a tour of the studio….I ended up with some of Frank and Jerry’s art, genuinely because they were absolutely amazing pieces! Also Frank does comissioned pet portraits so of course I pre-paid for one of those, though I may be ordering more because most of the people i know are crazy dog people 🙂
I had to stop in again on our way out of town, and was instantly greeted with kindness and warmth….
This place is amazing, and I sincerely cannot wait to return and to find a picture of my dog that Frank will be making a lino of.

if you’re not sure you want to stop here, do yourself a favor and stop here. You will meet some amazing artists and end up with a smile that makes your face hurt.

This is an utterly fantastic place filled with art by adults with brain issues. I don’t want to tip the scales toward any one person, but I own three pieces from my favorite artist there, and some of my out-of-town guests have made purchases as well. The array of artists and styles means most everyone should be able to find something that suits them, and (of course) it’s for a splendid cause.
