Given some of the reviews I was not expecting much. But I was more than pleasantly surprised when I opened the door to this: a Skandi-inspired renovation; designer bedding and accents mixed with vintage/thrift furnishings. Wolfgang Puck coffee. Electrical plugs near the bed. Nicer bathroom toiletries. At $130 weekend rate (great btw) all was not perfect though- the coffee pot was dirty (not the first time apparently-management needs to address this); the bathroom is older and not up the the room standard: some towels and the shower curtain were past their prime. The caretaker, a nice guy, seems to be doing it all. The desk is frequently unmanned. I want this place to succeed, and it wouldn’t take much to get to the next level. I would stay again but looking for improvements.
Paid $154 for one night, 2 beds. Definitely worse than I expected. But I slept great, AC works fine, shower and toilet. Not very hard to impress a 18 year old kid though. ha
My company booked me a room here. There was a giant dead bug on the floor. I walked around barefoot and it felt like the room wasn’t even swept dirt on the floor. Next morning I had welts all over my legs from fleas. They got bit probably 10 times. I happen to be coming through the next night. I didn’t tell my dispatcher about it and he rebooked the room when I told him I wouldn’t stay there again. Because of the bedbugs or fleas, whatever they were, they would not refund the money to him. I ended up staying in a much better place. This place is very rundown. I’d give it zero stars if I could. when I checked in the first night, they charged me $100 more than the room cost and had to refund it to me.
Dont be scared by the bad reviews. We stayed here because my husband was doing an ultramarathon in the area and there were no other options. I was a little worried based on the reviews because we can be a bit of hotel snobs. We had the suite with 1 king bed and 1 queen in a separate room and it was great. Comfy, clean and in a great location. The following week my son had an all star baseball tournament in town so without looking anywhere else I booked this hotel again for two nights. Same style room but a different room, still comfy and clean. The man and lady that run the front desk were so sweet and their granddaughter was really nice.
Kind of “Bates motel” ish. Mid range crappy room. Clean enough but not really up to par. Our door didn’t shut unless ya put your foot at the bottom and put your shoulder into it. Cracks all up in the drywall and around the a/c. Strange slightly scary residents/locals/transients? hanging around outside. If its all you can get you will probably be fine but if you have other options probably go with one of those.
