I am SO happy to have a Thai place here in Pittsburg and no longer have to go out to Concord.
Do NOT sleep on this place or let the size of the establishment fool you. Everything I have tried so far has been fantastic!
First time I just went for a Thai Tea and a smoothie because we were in the area. Staff was polite and helpful, beverages were made quickly and were tasty. I promised to be back again soon for food.
Today I picked up food to go. I got an appetizer (Roti w/peanut sauce), green curry with tofu and extra eggplant, a canned soda and a Thai Tea for under $40.
Everything was wonderfully prepared, fresh produce, quality ingredients, cooked to perfection. Team was so attentive and helpful, even while I waited they made sure to check if I needed water or anything, honestly I wasn’t even waiting too long.
Go check this place out, they may be new to the area but they definitely know their way around that kitchen.
Perfect 10 from me and my new go to spot!

Delicious, tasty, and good size portions.
I found Zaep Mekong while looking for a tasty curry and since the place is new, I decided to give it a try.
I called ahead to place an order for dine in and they told me the food would be ready very quickly. I said okay, I’ll be there.
It took about 3 minutes for the food to arrive at my table. I was pleasantly surprised by the portion size, the presentation of the food, and ultimately the flavor.
I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for tasty Lao and Thai food.
Last but not least, the price matches perfectly with the quality and amount of food you are getting.

Amazing place for Thai & Lao food. We’re so excited that there is a spot in the area for this type of cuisine. Food tastes amazing and prices are very fair. It’s owned by a lovely family and we were told that they were offering a free Thai tea drink with your order, which is a limited promotion during their soft opening. We will definitely be making this spot our go to for Thai/Lao food

This is a newly opened Thai and Lao restaurant, which is a great addition to Pittsburg, which has been in long need of a local Thai takeout spot.
We got the Pad Thai, Som Tum (Papaya Salad), and Pad Krapow (Thai holy basil stir fry). Everything tasted delicious, my only feedback is that the food was a little sweet overall, but they’re probably catering to people who are used to sweet Thai takeout. The pad Krapow could have been seasoned more heavily with oyster sauce or fish sauce, spicier, and use less dark soy sauce.
I’m happy that they opened and hope they can do well! Go and support this local business, because Pittsburg needs more local spots like these that add to the diversity of the dining there.
Last thing I would add is that the people who run this place are Laotian, not Thai (though they both speak Thai). So I would encourage you to try the Lao dishes like: Laotian papaya salad, laab (Lao laab is different than Thai laab), Khao piak and Nam Khao. Those are the dishes I’m planning on trying on my next visit.

Absolutely loved this new Thai & Laos spot. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and clearly made with care. The soup was incredibly flavorful and comforting, the Pad Thai was perfectly balanced, and the Thai iced tea was so good. But the real star for me was the mango sticky rice — honestly one of the best I’ve ever had.
The restaurant just opened, and you can tell they put a lot of effort into it. Everything was very clean, the food came out fast, and the staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming.
If you’re looking for authentic Thai and Laos food with fresh ingredients and great service, this place is definitely worth checking out. Excited to come back already.
