Last night I had an extremely awful experience at Youyu. I am usually very understanding, I’ve worked in restaurants for years but this was unbelievable. First of all, the food was mid at best. We ordered the princess chicken amongst other things. The princess chicken was cold (which i guess its supposed to be? The server never explained, we had to Google it) and absolutely disgusting. Who wants to eat cold boiled chicken? Again, not really a big deal, sometimes you get something different. However, when I spoke to the server about it she was extremely rude and passive aggressive. She refused to remove it from our check, regardless of the fact that we barely touched it and proceeded to shake a menu in our faces demanding that we pick something else repeatedly. She made our entire table uncomfortable with this exchange. If you’re not going to remove it from the check, don’t. But to be shaking the menu in my face for extended period of time crossed a line. From then on, she was very rude and dismissive to everyone at our table and proceeded to ignore us for almost 45 minutes straight. She forgot my friend’s hot sake which, when reminded, she took 10 minutes to retrieve. When we got our checks, we found that she had double charged us for our two cokes. She continued to be rude through the check process. Yes, I acknowledge we were a group of 9. However she had only one other table for the entire time we were there. Again, I understand the pressure that can cause. This was a special night for my friends and I and to be treated this way was completely unacceptable. Even though some of the food was good, all of us agree that we will NOT be returning again. 0/10 do not recommend.

This was our first time here. 9:00 p.m. on graduation night. It wasn’t that long of a wait to be seated, but it was a Thursday night. I had the barbecue pork rice bowl with bok choy ($18) and he had the duck Rice Bowl with Asian broccoli ($22). We shared an appetizer of pork spare ribs ($9). I never had steamed pork spare ribs before in a texture was weird to me but the flavor was really good. Both dishes were a little sweet but still delicious. The Duck Sauce was amazing! The portions were big. Would definitely return.

We ordered a duck (half) and sweet and Sour Pork. Food was okay. Because the duck was dried out, the menu said it is roast duck. But came out the duck is deep fried and over cooked. Grateful a waiter Joe was helping us. And exchanged for us.
But the duck still it is not like Hong Kong Style roast duck. The should change the menu for deep fried duck not roast!!!

Their service was excellent 4 people helped us and they were great. The food was good but our favorite was the spicy wontons. Our server was honestly so sweet.

I forgot our waitress’ name, but her service was amazing! We got the xiao long bao (3/5), orange chicken(4/5, fresh & crispy), shrimp pad thai(5/5, super good!) and fire mountain sushi roll (3/5).
