We came to this place based on a recommendation from Gemini; it has now become one of our favorite spots for pho—we absolutely love it—and the service was perfect.

The food took forever to come out, which would’ve been fine if it was actually worth the wait. The banh xeo was somehow both greasy and soggy, the bun bo hue noodles were undercooked, and the pho broth was bland. Portions were incredibly stingy too — barely any meat or actual toppings, but for some reason they gave us enough jalapeños to supply an entire farmers market. I literally got 4 pieces of meat along with some bits and pieces. And the service was just confusing. After making us wait a long time for the food, the server dropped the check off basically right after everything came out while we were still eating. It didn’t feel rude exactly, just strangely rushed and awkward.

One of the most disappointing Vietnamese meals I’ve had in a long time.

we came around noon on a friday and it was fairly empty, only 1 or 2 other tables with people. the store was quiet other than some music covers playing.

I got the bun bo hue and thai tea! the bun bo hue had a nice spice to it. the thai tea was good, not too sweet. our food came out fairly quickly, but it might be a wait if your party’s bigger – I think they might only have 1 or 2 people working there. it’d be nice to come here again.

I was brought out to the Davis area and decided I didn’t want to drive back in that awful I-80 construction traffic.

Made a decision to park and see what was available. I haven’t been to Davis in a while and decided on the first little street sidewalk sign I saw PHO YUMMY. I live an hour away and I would drive back for their food if I could.

I arrived around 330PM on a Tuesday and was seated right away.

Upon walking in I’m greeted with the pink floral wall. It is cutely decorated and inviting. It’s not a large place but it didn’t feel crowded whatsoever.

I ordered bun bo hue, pork spring roll and Vietnamese iced coffee.

The bun bo hue had the flavor I was missing. I didn’t have pork blood in it, which I was looking forward to. I guess it’s not typically in their dish.

The spring roll was a little different too. But delicious nonetheless. I had the pork option. The meat was marinated. And rolled up with the rice noodles and lettuce. I never had it without bean sprouts before. And I actually prefer it this way.

Paired those off with ice Vietnamese coffee. I actually may take another trip down there next week for more.
