Tried this place today while doing business in Davis. Should have chosen better.
The burgers are very small for the exorbitant price, akin to a child’s meal size or a Mc Donald’s value cheeseburger. I have very small hands and it wasn’t much bigger than that. It lacked flavor, was quite bland. I did appreciate the cook not over salting the patty, which seems to be a common problem at a lot of local burger spots.
I ordered online and was told it would take 9-13 minutes. Got there within 10 minutes and my burger was sitting on their countertop. It was barely warm. They did follow my instructions for a substitute cheese and sauce on the side which was nice! However, no one greeted me or looked my way for a few minutes while I stood there waiting to ask someone a question. It didn’t look busy at all. When I was finally acknowledged, the employee wasn’t very friendly.
None of my complaints are a big deal, it’s just a place I’ll never visit again.
Usually I like to write a sarcastic post, that won’t be the case today.
Go elsewhere, get a burger that you will enjoy, be able to taste, and actually get your money’s worth.
I paid TOO MUCH MONEY for something that looks as bad as it taste. McDonald’s tastes better, juicier, looks bettet, and you can get fries and a drink for less than what you pay here for just a burger!
If you are the manager you should be EMBARRASSED for letting your business serve something that looks like this. And yes it taste as bad as it looks. And they are changing for it.
Came hungry, left hungry, disappointed, and not ever going back.
The fries were good.
The restaurant does feel like a wilderness outpost. Everything is wood or faux wood.
Attached to the restaurant is the Parkside Sports Bar.
You can order 2 ways onsite. At the register or at 1 of 2 kiosks.
There is plenty of inside seating with a small outdoors patio dining area.
We ordered:
Lemon/Pepper Wings (Large $18.99) – really crispy and juicy. Good size wings. Good flavor. We got ours with Ranch… note, the dressing was a bit on the watery side.
Crispy onion ($6.99) – extremely crispy crust… cannot even taste the onion. If you like fried batter, this is for you. Goes well with the Ranch dressing.
I got the chili onion burger ($11.99). Messy as heck…decided to go the civilized route… ate it with a knife and for…saving the top bun to mop up any leftover chili. Love the raw white onions and cheese on top. Good flavor, bean to beef ratio is pretty good.
Bathrooms are located past the video games… mens room on the right and women’s room to the left. Men’s room had only 1 sink/ 2 urinals and 2 stalls. They were out of soap when we were there. Room was spacious and clean. The restrooms appeared to be shared by both the bar and restaurant.
This place offers fantastic smash burgers at incredibly reasonable prices. It’s a family-friendly space with a lot seating options both inside and out on the patio.
The smash burgers are among the best in town, and they also have a variety of hot dogs. If you’re a burger enthusiast, the double onion smash burger is a must-try.
Been to this location two times. Both times were great experiences. Staff is great, restaurant is pleasing to enter, family friendly. You can grab a beer at the place next door and bring it to the food side. The chili fries are yummy, taste a hint of cinnamon in the chili. The chili dog is so worth it. I had the spicy burger with an impossible patty(the way they cook the impossible burger is not like anything I have ever had). They make the patties crispy which is very delicious. They also have fresh squeezed lemonade. We will definitely be back and want to recommend this place to everyone. It’s nice for Davis to have a place like this.
