I love this place and I come here often. I’m pretty familiar with a lot of the people who work here now because I am such a regular. That said, I had a pretty unpleasant experience during the Mexico / Ecuador match in which a borracho got in my face and threatened to fight me because I told the bartender that he was taking straws biting and chewing on them and then spitting them onto the other side of the bar into the area where the bartenders prepared drinks.

The bartender obviously responsive and responded well to understanding what happened, but I felt very uncomfortable with the fact that I had to kind of defend myself against this drunk person who was obviously doing something unacceptable.

Either way this won’t prevent me from returning because this place is really great and the people who work here care very much about providing an excellent experience.

Cons: I would give this place a 5 if only they would lower the music a tad bit down, i understand they have a dance floor which is meant to be used for dancing & live music but…the music was way too loud i could barely hear my friends talking to me plus one of the female waiters ignored me when i asked for a to go box for my leftover food. Parking can be a bit difficult.

Pros: The Pozole Verde was piping hot when it arrived at my table, its serve with a side of lettuce, dished radish, onions, & tostadas, one of the crunchiest & freshest tostadas i’ve ever tried. They have an ample space to dine in. I told our female waiter to personally tell the cook in the kitchen who makes the pozole verde, they make the best pozole verde i’ve ever tried before.

If friends from out of town came through, I would take them to Las Pencas de Maguey for a fun dinner in Daly City/Colma. They have some unique dishes like the Trompo de Pastor $29.50. It is a table side personal vertical grill, kind of like a shawarma. They even put a pinepple on top so it drips the juices down to the meat for extra flavor. The al pastor was flavorful with charred tips, bright adobo sauce and that beautiful marinated pork taste. It came with tortillas, free chips & salsa. Three types of hot sauce are available at the table. My Modelo beer $7 was served in a bottle, ice cold. Later I saw that they had it on tap at the bar. I wonder why she didn’t give me a pint instead of the bottle. My preference is tap. Tables around me had drinks with little umbrellas on them. If you are into it, ask the bartender what drinks they are.

As for the restaurant, the Google Maps hours are incorrect. The waitress told me the restaurant is open until 1am on the weekends, the club/dance room is open until 2am. On the weekdays, there is karaoke in the other room. On the weekends, the other room is a club/dancing with bouncers. Bring some earplugs if are sensitive to noise. Service was excellent. The restaurant room was full at 9pm on a Saturday night. By the time I left at 10pm, tables were available.
