I was referred to Dr Quilala for being the best pediatrician in Lake County. She was completely dismissive of me suspecting that my son had come down with pans/pandas overnight even after listing all of his neuro psych symptoms – it seemed that she scoffed at me, as I was in tears. She said she was familiar with p/p although she was completely incompetent and unprofessional talking over me to the point of raising her voice. I am a highly-attuned mother and anyone who has gone through this knows how terrifying it is – especially when you are gaslit by doctors and labs are deceptive. Quilala offered no empathy, just basic lab work and told me that if I was concerned I could take him to the ER, but it was said with such dismissal. I felt humiliated and was heartbroken for my son that we had wasted so much time waiting for this appointment. I later found a functional nutritionist who healed my son – turns out he had undiagnosed Lyme and Bartonella and major gut dysbiosis causing his immune system to misfire and attack the brain. Thanks to his functional nutritionist he is no longer suffering and is a happy, thriving child. After this, I have completely lost my trust in doctors.
