Great for groups. Site A is perfect for groups!! I do not recommend site B- there is absolutely no shade there. Close to amenities, well maintained and clean bathrooms and showers. Parking up to 8 cars included for the duration of your reservation, additional cars $8 daily use, lots of parking spots. Good for hikes. Bad for swimming. Water is green, gross, swim area is full of geese and geese poop up and down the beach shore line. Come here for that outdoor camp feel, don’t come here if you are looking for a place to swim along with your camping experience.

A delightful campground, large enough that you can choose – shady, near a beach, near a put in, near or away from the water. They said, don’t expect water access; even sites near the water usually have a willow shrub wall that prevents water access or view, though there are often little paths cut through to the water. Lovely, quiet, green, shady, and fewer mosquitos than you would expect with marshy land nearby, just dont expect to look out across the Lake.

I went tent camping, had an osprey nest up in a tree about 200 feet away, watched it building the nest up a little making runs for material. Didn’t know it but we had a flock of quail in a nest about 15 feet behind our tent on the log over the water, watched them come out every evening to feed, they had to go around us. Went for a late night walk around the campground and spotted about a dozen deer in three different groups. Also, take the raccoon warnings seriously, and do not give in to their very polite gestures to give them food lol, they WILL approach your site at night, we kept everything in our car and we had paw prints on our hood in the morning, you will be inspected by the local family of raccoons lol.

Great experience after Labor Day, Wed-Fri morning. Many big sites, though the ones on the water are smaller. We stayed one night on the water and two in shadier spots. Clean restrooms. Nice trails. Amazing views. You need to buy tokens for showers, but that’s expected at many state parks. There aren’t RV hookups at the sites, but they do and water and pump-out.

The campground has bathrooms with flush toilets, showers that take tokens to use, lots of trees, dog friendly, a beautiful lake and good sized camp spaces. The negatives are the cottonwood trees that are shedding right now and dead fish in the lake. The ok part is they tried to make navigating from one area to another wheelchair accessible, but the pathways with the raised walkways aren’t wide enough for passing a wheelchair(eg coming from the opposite direction.)
