This is a lovely hotel that is a bit nostalgic but updated, clean and has all the amenities one could ask for. The staff was so accommodating as I think I changed my reservation 3 times as we were traveling cross country for a family wedding and events kept changing. Even after our stay I had left an item in my room and they a week later that were able to locate it and send it to me very quickly. This is a reasonable cost accommodation in a very central location in St. Helene. It was perfect!
We stayed in the large suit on the 3rd floor with a kitchen, living room & separate bedroom.

Wine glasses – only 2 & they were very tiny.
The kitchen has 2 of each – plates, bowls, fork, knife, spoon, small glasses. But has a table with 6 chairs.
If you plan on using the kitchen bring paper plates, plastic cups, napkins/paper towels, plastic forks/spoon/knives.
We were in town meeting a couple family members. We had wine but no glasses. If you plan on enjoying wine, bring wine glasses. You can purchase nice, glass-like plastic at Target. About $2.50 each.
This is our first time at the El Bonita. I would probably stay again. The location is central to all of the places we wanted to visit. The property and rooms were clean, which is the first priority. I was disappointed with the breakfast offerings, as there were hardly any breakfast offerings. We went down twice and left with only a banana, the only banana. I wasn’t expecting a full breakfast, but even some hard-boiled eggs in the fridge would have been great. My other issue was that the patio door didn’t have a working lock. The screen on our friend’s patio door was broken and off the tracks.
None of these were deal breakers, but there are many options in Napa.
Great place for an extended weekend in wine country. Walkable distance to the “downtown” strip and restaurants. Pool and sauna area nice to hang out in during down time. Breakfast provided. Pastries surprisingly good. Would stay here again!
This is a refurbished motel probably built in the 1950’s-1960’s. The rooms are updated with nicer fixtures in the bathroom and color schemes, but very small. Pedestal sink in the bathroom, no counter. Only room in the bathroom for 1 person at a time and you could probably stand in 1 place and touch all 4 walls.
Bed was ok, not great. Only a full size for 2 people is tight. 2 thin pillows were not enough.
There is a pool, sauna and hot tub. We did not use them but they looked ok. There are a couple of places outside to sit around fire pits and enjoy a glass of wine.
We skipped breakfast as it was quite sparse. Vending machine was full, but non-working.
Very busy road out front with lots of traffic coming in/out of Napa. Even though it wasn’t a great hotel, it was still the best value for the money. Probably wouldn’t stay again if there was a comparably priced option.
