Pet-friendly almost-glamping! Stayed in a tiny home and as someone else said, very very comfy bed! So comfy, my dog didn’t want to leave! Equipped kitchen. KOA (the name of the tiny home) had a washer-dryer-all-in-one! As a dog mom, I enjoyed how easily accessible the grounds were to dog-friendly sites like Hedge Creek Falls, Mossbrae Falls, and Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens. The grounds is super enchanting at night with all the string lights. The office, which doubles as a sort of convenience store, is open from 8am to 10pm, for all sorts of needs! Dunsmuir does have wide variance in temperature throughout the day (welcome to the mountains), so I would have the AC on at the heat setting when going to bed so you don’t wake up freezing. I already sleep with a heat pad so it wasn’t a big deal. There’s a playground, campfire sites, hammocks, lawn games, etc. I can’t wait to come back!!!

My husband and i came here for our anniversary and overall it was a beautiful trip. Very peaceful, beautiful scenery. We stayed in one of the small homes. Really good burger place down the road & close to Mt Shasta. The only thing i would suggest is the cleaning. The cabin we stayed in was dirty, i broke out in a rash on my face. Lots of stains on the walls, the sink was dirty when we arrived too. I always bring cleaning wipes when we go places just in case, so we were able to clean what we could. But it’s sad to say they aren’t very clean. If you plan on cooking, i suggest bringing your own sponge because the sponge we had was moldy and used, very used. Overall, we loved it.

This resort is just off I5 in Dunsmuir. It has a mix of cabins and Airstreams to choose. We stayed in a two bedroom cabin (Aspen) with deck and sauna.
This cabin was fully equiped with two bedrooms, a full kitchen with refridgerator, oven. The cabin although rustic, was extremely clean, well arranged and spacious.
There was AC thoughout the cabin to keep it cool on the warm days we were there. The outdoor sauna was especially nice.
Adjacent to the property is the Dunsmuir Botanical Garden and nearby the Sacramento River. Both a nice short hike (the Gardens being adjacent to the property).
One issue to note is the proximity to I5 which generates road noice. The river and an active railroad track or on the other side. Neither of these were an issue for us, and the cabin is well insulated.

5 stars – Our only mistake was booking just one night.
We used this as a stop on a long family road trip and quickly realized it deserved much more than an overnight stay. Once my kids learned we were leaving the next morning, they were genuinely disappointed and immediately started asking when we could come back.
We stayed in Banyan, a two-bedroom, two-bath cabin/trailer, and it was comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The entire property is beautifully maintained and well appointed. We visited in early summer and the weather was perfect.
The kids loved the shared pool, and the private hot tub was a fantastic bonus after a day on the road. The setting strikes a great balance between feeling like a resort and a peaceful retreat.
By the end of our stay, my kids were asking if we could make this an annual family tradition. That’s about as strong an endorsement as I can give. We’ll definitely be back, and next time we’ll stay longer.

I won a two night stay at Cave Springs through a local give away. My boyfriend and I stayed in the redwood cabin and I can’t recommend it enough! The entire cabin was beautiful and outside was a private hot tub and picnic table. They have string lights set up through the entire site, making it absolutely beautiful at night. We enjoyed a rainy, relaxing weekend. We definitely plan on coming back with our kids next time. Thank you cave springs! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
