Went here for brunch after a soccer tournament and the food was amazing, and the drinks were delicious too. I had shrimp and grits (nom), my son had liver pate toast with pickled onions (nom), but the tie for best was my friend’s polenta with slow roasted beef stew and the mussels frites with extra toast. Also the falcon spritz our server recommended was spot-on. I would definitely make the trip out here again!

Unique and historical location at little off the beaten path. Historical building with outside seating and plenty of photos from the 1800s and early 1900s.

Service was good but not wow. Soda is in bottle. No free refills.

Demographics were a lot of old people.

Food was pedestrian. I really had high hopes based on the reviews but we all we’re like it’s not great but certainly not bad.

I had the Shrimp and Grits. If you’re from the South these aren’t going to woo you. Instead of a texture where you should feel the hominy/corn grit it was instead a homogenozied paste. Red sauce with little cream/butter. Shrimp and bacon were great. I was okay at best.

Biscuits and gravy. You get two (for brunch). Gravy was chunky and heavy sage flavor, like really heavy (all 4 of us agreed on this). Edible but certainly many others have me begin better biscuits and gravy.

Fried rock cod sandwich was plain. Nothing bad just lacked flavor.

Avocado toast with smoked salmon was very good.

Parking on street or large lot in back.

I don’t think they have a kids menu or high chairs but they did have mac and cheese.

This restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience, highlighted by a truly remarkable atmosphere and high-quality cuisine. The setting is refined and inviting, making it an excellent choice for date nights or special occasions. The drinks and salads were standout items—thoughtfully prepared, well-balanced, and particularly memorable. While the burgers and fish were very good, they did not quite reach the same level as the smaller plates. Based on this experience, focusing on the small plates may provide the most rewarding exploration of the menu during future visits. Overall, the restaurant successfully combines ambiance, quality ingredients, and skilled preparation to deliver a polished and enjoyable experience. We would highly recommend it for anyone seeking a stylish and memorable night out.

We were pretty excited about coming here having heard about it from an article at one point in time. Overall, it was not bad at all but we found the prices pretty high for the quality of the food we got. I had personally ordered a medium ribeye because I find most places do medium rare a little too rare, but this was much more leaning well done likely due to it being a thinner cut and cooking fast. We also had asked one of the waiters about an allergy question who disappeared completely afterwards and led us to asking another who ended up getting us the answer pretty quickly.

Everything else was great and we would probably come back for drinks again as the menu for those looked fantastic.

Awaiting you at the end of the road is a step back to when Port Costa was a thriving wheat port on the bay. The Roadhouse offers craft cocktails at the vintage bar and generous plates on an inviting patio. This is a great weekend getaway.
