I’m not sure why the rating is so low but I see some older reviews that might be bringing it down…however, we had a great experience while visiting this Bartel’s.

We ordered a giant burger, with tots, over the phone, along with a peanut butter milkshake.

I don’t think the burger is identical to the other locations, which is understandable because they aren’t all owned by the same person, but it is still quite good. And the tots were excellent, as was the shake.

Aaron (…at least I believe that was his name) was a great host, answering all our questions and encouraging us to look around.

Both the interior seating and the patio out back are both quite comfortable and gave us a lot of options.

We look forward to trying the regular non-burger items on the menu too.

Great food with large portions, good & friendly service and very affordable! We also enjoyed the historic building and its nostalgic decor. We didn’t use the outdoor dining area because of the heat but it looked very quaint. I would recommend everyone give it a try at least once and come to your own conclusion. I think you’ll be pleased.
Did I mention the building is haunted?

We stopped at Bartels Restaurant in Red Bluff because the building has special meaning to our family — it was originally Stricker Bakery & Grocery, built in 1887 by my boyfriend’s great-grandparents. The food was absolutely delicious, and Anthony was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the building and business. It was such a neat experience to enjoy a great meal in a place with so much family history. We’ll definitely be back!

Love this place! It has this shabby chic WESTERN theme thru out the business depicting some rich Tehama County history. Their is plenty of shade to enjoy their adorable outdoor patio with plenty of seating (to accommodate one if your dining alone or 21 if your a large group.) They serve beer and wine along with specialty coffee drinks and (gasp!) Even plain BLACK coffee. (Pepsi products, lemonade, tea) and there are so many food choices to satisfy EVERYONE on your groups food needs. Their are two bathrooms. (ONE outdoors…quaint and out of the way) the other much larger for easy handicapped accessibility. People think this is just a BURGER Joint but it is sooo much more than that. It’s family owned and operated with the Parents running the Redding and Anderson Bartels, and the son Eric running the Red Bluff And Corning store. Their home made biscuits and gravy is one of my favorites!
Their business hours are 8am -3pm Wednesday thru Sunday unlike the other Bartels restaurant’s which can cause a bit of confusion as the other THREE Bartels (Corning, Anderson and Redding) are open 7 days a week. NOT opening till 10 or 11:30 am but all three staying open till 9pm every night.
The only downfall for the Red Bluff Bartels is the parking. It can b a bit confusing as their are only TWO spots located right in front of their building and thats it. However their building is attached to another business that most patrons think is a shared parking lot (it is NOT) So customers utilize the larg DOLLAR GENERAL parking lot that is located right next door. Only a slight confusing inconvenience when u FIRST visit. You can call your order in ahead of time if your in a hurry and …did I mention they also sell BEER AND WINE?! LOL

Great atmosphere with friendly staff. I really enjoyed the outdoor seating with the bright colors and fun paintings. The inside has beautiful old brick walls with furniture that creates a relaxed at home feeling.

I got the biscuits and gravy with an egg on top. The gravy was terrific and the egg on top was a fun new experience that I really enjoyed.
