We wanted to try out this restaurant because we are new to Gilroy. Very disappointed. We got there and the waitress was outside on her phone. She told us she locked herself out and was still talking on the phone and went around to open the door for us. She never unlocked it. We were in there about 10 minutes as she was talking very unprofessionally with what sounded like was a friend. Another group was waiting at the door and she didn’t notice or even look up so we opened it to let them in. They also weren’t greeted. She came up to us to give us water when I cut into her call and let her know I was ready. She then was whispering to talk to us as if she didn’t want to disrupt the call. We placed our order and she said okay then turns right back around and tells us they actually don’t have any of what we asked for. Terrible first experience. We won’t be back.
We had a great lunch at Alehouse & Bistro. Our group of four had a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived. We were seated right away, which made the start of our lunch very smooth. The server was friendly, attentive, and took our order quickly, making the whole experience feel relaxed and well organized.
Our food and cocktails were delivered promptly, and everything tasted fantastic. Every dish was delicious, flavorful, and well prepared. The service was excellent and the atmosphere made it a perfect spot for lunch with family.
The Tuna TATAKI was to die for my first time here for a light bite and brew and OMG. It was so fresh, the ponzu sauce must’ve had something additionally special into it because it was so good sesame seeds. Everything was just amazing. The noodles was a genius addition they were also amazing.
This was my first vist. It was a Tuesday at late lunch time. Plenty of seating available. I guess many people don’t know yet about this great restaurant!
They have a good menu including an extra page with the daily specials. There are some surprising items on the list you may not expect at an Alehouse in Gilroy!
I had the Japanese Curry & Pork Katsu. It came sizzling hot in a skillet and was very tasty!
It is calling itself Alehouse Bistro for a good reason, they have a very good selection of beers (in addition to wine and a nice list of cocktails as well as plenty of non-alcoholic choices). So, you always find something you like!
It was girls night out and we weren’t disappointed in trying this new place. We have some standard restaurants that we usually go to but I want to try something new and I’m so glad we did. We enjoyed a bowl and then also the fish tacos, they were both outstanding! My only complaint is the noise it’s a little noisy not horrible but a little bit noisy if you were in a group it probably would be hard to hear people at a table of more than four. Service was outstanding!

Update, we enjoyed the restaurant to celebrate my daughter’s graduation. We had a party of 7, I had a reserved table which the restaurant did a fantastic job setting up in the back portion of the restaurant away from the noise and traffic of other customers. Jennifer was our server and she often checked on us, giving us updates on our food and making sure we were satisfied. She did a great job making us feel welcome and allowing us to pace our dining experience as we desired. The menu variations are wide and all the food was tasty, including the desserts!
